My Story
I’m Terri Wilson, and I founded Doing HR Differently to challenge the status quo of how organizations think about people, performance, and growth.
After decades in entrepreneurial ventures and executive HR leadership roles, I kept seeing the same patterns: businesses chasing performance without building the systems to enable and sustain it—and overlooking how their internal ecosystem was shaping (or stalling) results.
In January 2018, I stepped away from a corporate executive role and began exploring my next chapter: another corporate opportunity or launching my consulting business. The pull toward creating something of my own—something different—was strong.
But the timing wasn’t quite right. I accepted another executive role in December 2018, putting my vision on hold. When I exited that role in August 2021, I knew it was time. In January 2022, Doing HR Differently LLC officially launched!
