About Terri Wilson

Trusted Advisor to CEOs

I help CEOs strengthen how their organizations actually operate so performance remains predictable as complexity grows.

For more than three decades, I have worked inside organizations as both an entrepreneur and corporate leader—building businesses, leading within complex environments, and advising leadership teams responsible for meaningful results.

I have worked with organizations ranging from early-stage companies to enterprises with more than $12B in revenue across various industries.

Across those experiences, one pattern remained consistent.

Organizations rarely struggle because leaders lack effort or intelligence. Performance weakens as complexity increases and how work actually happens becomes less clear.

  • Decisions get revisited.
  • Accountability varies across leaders.
  • Incentives pull teams in different directions.
  • Standards shift under pressure.

Over time, these patterns shape how the organization truly operates.

That perspective is why my work now focuses on operating discipline and organizational design.

My thinking continues to evolve through the organizations and leadership teams I work alongside. Each engagement deepens my understanding of what allows performance to hold—and where it breaks—under pressure.

Too often, organizations chase symptoms—addressing individual issues one at a time while the underlying system continues to produce the same patterns.

I believe in doing the harder work. No more whack-a-mole.

Understanding how the organization actually operates.
Strengthening what works. Changing what does not.

When organizational design and operating discipline are strong, performance becomes predictable and people are able to do their best work.

What I Believe

Organizations do not struggle because people lack effort.
They struggle when how the organization actually operates becomes unclear.
Most performance issues are treated at the surface.

I focus on the system producing them.

Clarity over consensus.

Consistency over intensity.

Operating discipline and organizational design determine whether performance holds as complexity grows.

How organizations actually operate determines performance.

How I Work with Leaders

My role is not to provide quick answers or generic frameworks.

It is to help leaders examine how their organizations actually operate and address the structural factors shaping performance.

This work requires honest conversation, disciplined thinking, and a willingness to look beyond surface-level symptoms.

I work with CEOs and senior leadership teams to clarify decision authority, strengthen accountability, align incentives, and reinforce leadership standards so execution remains consistent as organizations grow.

I bring perspective shaped by experience and steady judgment under pressure.

This is not quick or superficial work. It requires leaders who are willing to examine how their organizations truly function and address issues at the root.

I work best with CEOs and senior leadership teams who are ready to do that work.
